What wouyld be the cause of oil in cooling system of gm 3.1 after it has overheated from the cause of faulty w

on the number 3 cylinder the head gasket cracks all the time and waprs the cylinder head from over heating. what you need to do is get a new head gasket and take the head to get machined maybe you are lucky and you can reuse it but i have replaced 4 engines on the last 7 3.1 gms i have done. because the cylinder walls got so hot that the number 3 cylinder cracked and coolant and oil mixedWhat wouyld be the cause of oil in cooling system of gm 3.1 after it has overheated from the cause of faulty w
What miles on this engine? whatz it in? Failed water pump? Aluminum heads cast iron block motors don't like over heating. I doubt there is much left to save. By the time you get both cyl heads off and motor out of the car to have the engine block tested you could have a used running motor in there. What wouyld be the cause of oil in cooling system of gm 3.1 after it has overheated from the cause of faulty w
Cracked cylinder head from the over-heating?
start with put in some pepper(black ) most of a can if it no lomger shows oil in your cooling system its likely the head gasket if not you have a cracked head or block if it is expensive
A crack somewhere. A blown gasket, possible an intake gasket because of the engine design
i would say you have a blown head gasket or intake gasket. If you car is overheating, then it is head gasket. If it is not then it is intake gasket
