It should work - it would probably be better because it doesn't degrade over time like vegetable oil - also try baby oil (which is mineral oil - and cheaper than motor oil) or D20 (heavy water - doesn't conduct electricity
If you read the article you'll see that they give motor oil a mention as a preferencePC cooled in motor oil ?
