I just tested for boost leaks, and found one comming out of the Turbine housing. I can't pressurize the system to over 9psi using a big air compressor. The boost is leaking through the bearing housing and hissing out through the turbine wheel. Now what I really want to know is, what might be wrong with this turbo charger, if anything.
And would it be cheaper to try to fix it or replace the whole turbo?Garrett 50 trim .63A/R (water and oil cooled) boost leak?
The seal on the turbine is misaligned or bent. If your mechanically inclined, then it would be cheaper to fix, but if your not, then you may want to buy a new one.
