Why do all suvs has a oil cooler ?

i'm confused is it a engine oil cooler or a transmission cooler and also do you shortened the life of your transmission when you go off roadingWhy do all suvs has a oil cooler ?
Because they are usually hauling or pulling heavy things. Even their OWN weight is more than cars or small pickups, so a trans cooler is a good thing to have.

You can damage your trans while off road if you get stuck and over work the transmission while trying to get loose, or while trying to pull someone ELSE loose, or while pulling a heavily loaded trailer in overdrive.

My Suburban had both engine AND trans coolers. Why do all suvs has a oil cooler ?
now all suv's have TRANSMISSION COOLERS...i think that's what your talking about, is it?

anyways, most big suv's and pick ups have transmission coolers because when towing large payloads, it puts more stress on the transmission. so it heats up more, if it heats up too much, it can damage it. so a transmission cooler is put in place.

there is also such thing as an engine oil cooler. lots of engines in all types of cars have that.
