when i change my oil, I have to use a long screwdriver in the pivot point on the oil filter wrench just to get the oil filter off (screws the old oil filter up)!!! when i put the new oil filter on i screw it on hand tight and there is always a gap left at the top u have to finish it by snugging it up with an oil filter wrench. so it takes an hour or more to change my oil !!!! what can i do to fix it other than buying a new oil cooler adapter ??? The gap at the top is the thickness of the gasket. By tightening it until there is no gap, your are over tightening it and crushing the gasket. Sounds like you should pay to have this job done for you. Chevorlet 350 oil cooler problem?
there should be a gap where you can't see the o-ring that sits in there right hand tight should be it, if you do it hand tight does oil come out
