Where should i connect an oil cooler in my oiling system 80 shovelhead?

my existing system has no coolerWhere should i connect an oil cooler in my oiling system 80 shovelhead?
Mount your cooler to the front downtubes of the frame. Run an oil line from the oil pump return to the cooler and back to the tank. If your cooler does not have a thermostat, make sure to get a cover for it for cold weather riding.Where should i connect an oil cooler in my oiling system 80 shovelhead?
well its got to go somewhere in the pressure side there might be an adaptor plate for the oil filter which incorporates the oil take off lines ask a HD dealer they should know
It should go in the return line to the oil tank to cool the oil before it goes back in the tank
Andy is correct.

The return line (from oil pump to oil tank) is pressurized.

The feed line (from oil tank to oil pump) is gravity fed. If the oil cooler or any part of the oil line) is higher than the tank, the oil will cavitate, and the flow of oil will cease to the engine.

Being pressurized on the return side, this will not be an issue, as it's designed to pump the oil uphill back to the oil tank.
