I just posted the question about my oil filter gasket and freeze plug problem for the 95' Silverado with a 350. I just went and looked again and it seems that the oil cooler lines have just as much (if not more) oil caked onto them as the oil filter housing. Is this common, did it come from the oil filter housing leaking, or is it something that needs to be taken care of? Thank you for your patience and your input. A best answer will be given.Do I have to address my oil cooler lines as well?
No, they probably got leaked on. The proper way to address leaks like this is to fix the leak that is the highest up, clean the area real well and run the engine looking for leaks. If you replace everything that got oil on it you'll be at the new car dealership soon.Do I have to address my oil cooler lines as well?
The odds are that a leaking oil filter just leaked onto the oil cooler lines.
those lines are very commom to leak so yes if caked up yes repl .
