looks like the oil cooler on my n reg diversion 600 is leaking and is possibly knackered is installation of a new one difficult ,it looks straightforward enough
any help most welcome cheers!Yamaha diversion 600 oil cooler installation is it difficult?
It shouldn't be too much trouble if you know can use standard tools. It is a straightforward task, and should take you about 2 hours if you don't rush things. Take your time and do it right.
Good luck.Yamaha diversion 600 oil cooler installation is it difficult?
Never done it but if you want to try yourself I doubt if it is difficult.
1/ Drain the oil
2/ Remove the hoses to the cooler.(oil will drip everywhere, be ready to catch it in something)
3/ Remove the bolts holding the cooler to the frame (put them somewhere safe and clean)
4/ Bolt new cooler in place after cleaning the old bolts (if you smear a light coating of oil over the threads before installation it will make them easier to remove another time,)
5/ Replace hoses
6/ Refill oil to the required level
7/ After running the bike for a few minutes, switch off and check oil level again. Put in more if neccesary.
8/ Go for a short ride, when you come back check for oil leaks and tighten bolts where it's needed
Job done, easy
