Get BMW to add an oil cooler to my 335?

How do I get BMW to add an oil cooler to my 2007 335. They added them from the factory post-March build cars. Mine was built in February and they are giving me a hard time about adding it. Other users have reported that BMW has retrofitted the cooler for no charge except they have to sign a waiver.

Any thoughts?Get BMW to add an oil cooler to my 335?
So what did the waiver say? Was it something like, ';BMW takes no responsibilities if this non factory spec part does any damage to your engine or car in general';. This is the gist of normal waivers say. Think about it, if your engine dies while under warranty because you don't have an oil cooler, then you can get a brand spanking new engine for free. You can always retrofit an oil cooler onto your car after the warranty expires. You just bought a 335i. You have the money. Don't risk something this trivial.Get BMW to add an oil cooler to my 335?
Ask the dealer to have the District Manager meet you at the dealership to discuss. They have to do this by policy if you request it. Talk directly with the district manager. Be polite and stress what a good customer you are, and they will do it.
Call the 1-800 number in your owner's manual. BMW at that number are the only ones who can authorize that procedure. As for talking to a ';District Manager'; - they generally don't talk to the general public/customers directly.
Call BMWNA at 800-831-1117. BMW is only retrofitting the oil cooler to certain 3 series cars that have the SPORT package. This is because they feel that sport package drivers may practice more 'spirited' driving than a non-sport owner. However, you should be able to have the cooler retrofitted to your car, paid by BMW.

If you call BMWNA and speak to a representative, they may choose to escalate the claim to New Jersey (Call center is in Columbus, OH; corporate it is NJ) If they do, you are going in the right direction. If your claim is escalated to the home office, a Sr. representative should be giving you a call about your car. They are generally helpful; especially to owners with new BMW's. I would explain that you plan on using your car to go up big hills while hauling a lot of passengers. They can authorize a dealership to install the cooler at no charge if they feel there is a need.
It's pretty difficult to have BMW do anything once you bought the car. I have had 3 BMW's.

Unless the part in question is related to safety or exposes them to some type of liability they probably will not do it.

If you do have a failure due to the missing oil cooler your dealer, with OK from higher up representative could get the ok to fix the problem and install the oil cooler under waranttee..but thats a long shot.

Find out how much the parts are, buy them and try it yourself if its not too difficult. Or you could have a independent BMW shop install it for you.
Write to or call BMW, and not the dealership.
Wilson is the only person I have ran into on answers that has a brain. Wilson is right. Just ride out the warranty, and then add it. If you really want it now, I would talk to one of the techs at the dealership you go to. Ask them if its worth it, and how 'helpful' it really is. I doubt it will do a whole lot for the car. I will even go a step further and say the car is probably better without it.
