I just bought a fram high milage oil filter for my explorer and installed it. later i went on the fram website and it says it's for models with engine oil cooler? how can i know if mine is a model with an engine oil cooler? should i buy a different filter? or will it be alright?Does my 2002 ford explorer have an engine oil cooler?
to find out if you have a engine oil cooler look at the front bottom of your radiator. if there is a second smaller coil it may be for your engine or your transmission. But if you want to know for sure call a dealers parts department give them your vin and ask them. Most engine oil coolers are aftermarket.
