Career change Oil and Gas field?

Hi I have been a data analyst for 5 years in the banking field. I am looking to break into the oil and gas field as a business/cost/financial/data analyst. The only thing is, it is very hard to get into the oil and gas field. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to overcome companies wanting me to already have oil and gas experience, or advice on how to word my resume or how to start getting interviews. I think once they see I have no O%26amp;G experience my resume goes into the trash! Please help! I can go through staffing companies, it does not matter, I really need suggestions, please!Career change Oil and Gas field?
Perhaps you could get a mentor. Try your banking professional association. Also look in OIl %26amp; Gas industry associations to make contacts. I think you need someone to bring you in and/or get you experience. Look also for firms already servicing the industry. If they won't hire directly and you want in bad enough, maybe you could ';intern'; for a summer. In these days you have to be creative. Good luck
