It is known that compressor oil will slowly coat the inside surfaces of air conditioner evaporator and and consenser coils thus reducing the thermal conductivity and consequently reducing the cooling efficiency. Although oil vapor from the compressor will enter the evaporator and condenser and condense, it is important to remember that A/C systems are closed systems... Therefore, as oil vapor is being leaked into the A/C system, it is also being returned to the compressor. I guess I can't really answer your question specifically. But in theory, at some point the efficiency loss peaks and levels out due to the fact that oil from the system is also being returned to the compressor.

sometimes it makes not defference, if your application is near the edge of the envelope, address the causes for problems

I think I have had nothing that could be measured. It also may depend on contaminates. I have had some last very long with no problem.

bad water pump seal causes oil into the coolant, the seal separates the water from oil. once the seal is bad it will leak oil into the coolant side, specially when the weep hole in the pump is plugged. replace the pump to correct the problem.

Year, make ,model please. In most cases, its a head gasket leak.
busted water jacket in the head or blown head gasket between water jacket and cylinder. this will cause it to leak into the water line. and what goes into the cylinder comes out of the exhaust in the form of steam.

    Assuming you do a full oil change, and that you do not have any accessories like an external oil cooler, the crank case will take 3 us quarts.





    While you are doing it, lets fix your dipstick.





    1) Drain the oil. (clean the filter and get new gaskets). Let it drain for about 10 to 15 minutes to get as much oil out as possible.





    2) Reinstall the filter and the plates, tighten the nuts and add TWO (2) quarts. Wait about 5 minutes and pull the dipstick. It should be on the 'low' mark. If it is not, make a new mark at the oil level with a hacksaw or etching device., wipe off any metal parts and put it back in.





    3) Add the third quart and make a new line for the 'full' level.





    now your dipstick is correct (and your oil is changed).

    change oil, clean oil strainer, put 3 qts back in an you ok. 2.5 is correct but 3 qt will be ok

    ok the honest truth you check the oil when the motor in not in operation. (meaning not turned on) the reason for this is that most auto makers have it where the oil pump senser send a certian amount through out the whole motor lubericating the inside to allow it to function without burning out valves gears and other important parts.





    the best time to check your oil is in the morning when you 1st wake up due to the oil draining back into the oil pan to give a true reading.





    the only time you check a fluid while the motor is runing is your transmission fluid. the reason for this is transmission fluid cirulates through the transmission seperating the gears from colliding with eachother.
    Your car has to be shut off. It doesn't matter if you drove the car, because a lot of people would drive to the station and have them check it. So turn off the car and let the oil settle for a short period of time then check it. Same thing with the transmission , check when the car is shut off.
    Either way, but you get a more accurate reading after all the oil drains down into the crankcase after the car has been parked awhile. Also, the car needs to be parked on level ground to get the best reading.

    When the car has been running the oil is thinner and could be lower then it really is. Check it on flat land and while it is cool.

    When checking the oil , check the oil when engine is off.. cool or warm.


    Check the transmission when trans. oil is hot with engine running in park.
    You check the oil when the car is running, and the transmission fluid when the car is cool.
    The car should not be running when checked, but can be checked, when off, hot or cold, and on level ground.
    You warm up the oil then wait 10 min and then it drains out easily. Don't attempt to do it sooner than 10 min because oil is still making it's way down from the motor.
    Either but make sure you car is on level ground and if you do it warm be carefully not to burn yourself.

    What miles on this engine? whatz it in? Failed water pump? Aluminum heads cast iron block motors don't like over heating. I doubt there is much left to save.     Cracked cylinder head from the over-heating?
    start with put in some pepper(black ) most of a can if it no lomger shows oil in your cooling system its likely the head gasket if not you have a cracked head or block if it is expensive

    i would say you have a blown head gasket or intake gasket. If you car is overheating, then it is head gasket. If it is not then it is intake gasket
